Bags, bags and bags.

One of the first things that we did was a bags. I think that they were easy to do because I have experience using a sewing machine. But it was nice to start with easier things and to get to known the school's machines. We did one bigger bag which I use when I go to a weekend trip. That bag turned out so nice. Then we did two smaller bags to our school's shop. Here is a couple photos.

Aloitimme opinnot valmistamalla kasseja. Mielestäni niitä oli aika helppo tehdä, koska minulla on kokemusta ompelukoneiden käytöstä. Mutta oli mukava aloittaa helpommilla töillä, että oppii tuntemaan koulun koneet. Teimme yhden isomman kassin, mitä itse käytän viikonloppu reissu kassina. Olen todella tyytyväinen lopputulokseen. Teimme myös kolme pienempää kassia koulumme myymälään. Tässä on muutama kuva tuotteista.

Material in this bag was the most part cotton. It is very easy material to work with. In the bigger bag the black fabric is little bit stonger because I used it in the bottom to give the bag some stuckture. Also the the strings are made from the same black fabric. I chose black and white because those colours go with every single colour.

Materiaalina käytin pääosin puuvillaa. Se on helppo materiaali työstää. Tässä kassissa musta kangas on hieman paksumpaa, koska halusin saada pohjasta tukevan. Käytin samaa mustaa kangasta hihnoissa. Päätin tehdä kassista musta-valkoisen, jotta kassia voi käyttää minkä tahansa muun värin kanssa.

In these bags the materials were given to us. There were some options where you could choose but all of them were black and white. Everyone from our class made two bags to the shop. So in total we made about 25 bags.

Näissä kasseissa saimme materiaalit koululta. Siellä oli muutamia vaihtoehtoja, mutta kaikki silti musta-valkoisia, jotta tuotteista tulisi yhtenäisiä. Jokainen luokastamme teki kaksi kassia myymälään. Joten kasseja tuli yhteensä noin 25.

Blue hoodie

After the bags were done it was time to move in making chlothes. First piece of chlothing that I made was over-sized hoodie for my little sister. She had a hoodie that she really liked so I made the patterns from using that hoodie. It was pretty easy to make and it turned out really nice. And she loved it! I made her second one for a christmas gift.

Kassien jälkeen oli aika siirtyä tekemään vaatteita. Ensimmäinen vaate, jonka tein oli over-sized huppari pikkusiskolleni. Hänellä oli jo valmiiksi huppari, josta hän piti, niin päätin tehdä kaavat käyttäen olemassa olevaa hupparia. Valmistus oli todella helppoa ja hupparista tuli tosi kiva. Ja hän piti siitä! Tein hänelle toisen joululahjaksi.

Skirt for mom

Around december we started doing skirts. I don't use skirts so I wanted to do a custom skirt for my mom. She wanted a new version of a skirt that she already got. So again I made the patterns using her old skirt and create a new version of it. Making this skrit was pretty hard because there was many pieces of fabric. It was also pretty hard to make it perfect fit for my mom cause I couldn't try it on her during the day. But in the end I was really happy how good the skirt turned out. My mom also liked it very much. She even wore it for christmas.

Joulukuun alussa aloitimme valmistamaan hameita. En itse juurikaan käytä hameita, joten halusin tehdä äidilleni mittatilaustyönä hameen. Hän halusi uuden version jo olemassa olevasta hameesta. Valmistin kaavat käyttämällä vanhaa hametta ja loin siitä uuden version. Tämän hameen tekeminen oli melko vaikeaa, koska hame piti koota useammasta pienemmästä palasta. Täydellinen istuvuus oli myös vaikea saavuttaa, koska en voinut kokeilla hametta äidilläni kesken päivän. Loppujen lopuksi olen todella tyytyväinen lopputulokseen. Äitini piti hameesta niin paljon, että käytti sitä jouluaattona.

My own little project

I have always wanted to start my own business so I made some owen glowes and potholders for my relativies to practice serial production. They turned out so good and I am so proud of myself for doing that. Feedback was great and I couldn't be happier. This spring I will create a new collection and I'm so excited. Thease products will go for a sell.

Tässä kuvassa näet joulu projektini valmistuksessa. Olen aina halunnut perustaa oman yrityksen, joten tein patakintaita ja patalappuja sukulaisilleni harjoituksena sarjatuotantoa ajatellen. Lopputulos oli todella hyvä ja en voisi olla ylpeämpi itsestäni, että sain sen aikaan. Palaute oli mahtavaa, joten en voisi olla iloisempi. Tänä keväänä luon uuden malliston ja olen siitä todella innoissani. Nämä tuotteet menevät myyntiin.

Over sized collar shirt

The last thing that we do this year is two collar shirts. The first one is for practice and the second is our final assignment work. It will be rated by our teacher and a person from working life representative. Again we can decide who is the shirt from and the look of the shirt. I decided to do this first one to me. It will be over-sized white collar shirt with pearl buttons. My fabric is 100% cotton.

Viimeinen asia, jota teemme on pari kauluspaitaa. Ensimmäinen on harjoituksena toiselle paidalle, joka on tämän vuoden lopputyö. Opettaja ja työelämän edustaja arvioivat työskentelyä ja itse paidan. Jälleen saamme päättää kenelle paidan teemme ja paidan tyylin. Minä päätin tehdä ensimmäisen itselleni. Se tulee olemaan over-sized valkoinen kauluspaita helmi napeilla. Kankaana käytän 100% puuvillaa.
